As an angler seeking a powerful yet balanced setup, the Shimano SLX 150 HG baitcasting reel paired with the Shimano SLX 7’2″ Medium-Heavy Xtra-Fast rod was an easy choice. When I was in the market for a new rod and reel I wanted a do all combo. I settled with the SLX because it’s a known workhorse and for the price you can’t go wrong. Secondly, I went with SLXCX72MH2 because it’s two piece. I pictured this combo to be a “truck rod” that I would have on me at all times because you never know when you can cast a line. Now the combo has became an addition to my tournament arsenal. This combo offers an enticing combination of cutting-edge technology, precision engineering, and ergonomic design.
